Membership Categories
IAAA offers three categories of membership designed to reflect different roles within the international ecosystem of Aerial Athletics.

Supporting Members
Supporting Membership is designed for emerging clubs, studios, schools, and organizations that wish to engage with the international Aerial Athletics ecosystem and be part of the international Aerial Athletics community.

Supporting Member Rights

  • Attend the General Assembly with deliberative rights
  • Participate in committees/working groups by invitation without voting rights
  • Access official information, rulebooks, and education programs
  • Participate in the IAAA calendar and official events
  • Submit agenda items and written proposals to the General Assembly for consideration
Honorary Members
Honorary Membership is granted to established organizations, institutions, or leading clubs with proven experience in aerial disciplines that actively contribute to the development of Aerial Athletics.

Honorary Member Rights

  • Attend the General Assembly with deliberative rights
  • Participate in committees/working groups by invitation with advisory vote
  • Access official information, rulebooks, development programs, and education programs
  • Apply for event sanctioning and (where approved) host IAAA-branded National Start/Regional Qualifier 
  • Participate in the IAAA calendar and official events
  • Submit agenda items and written proposals to the General Assembly
Regular Members
Regular Members represent the highest level of institutional membership within IAAA.

This category is intended for national federations or recognized governing organizations responsible for the development and coordination of Aerial Athletics within their country.

Regular Member Rights

  • Vote at the General Assembly
  • Nominate candidates to governing bodies and committees
  • Access grants, development, and education programs
  • Apply for event sanctioning and host IAAA-branded events (inclusion in the IAAA international calendar and rankings)
  • Participate in the IAAA calendar and official events
  • Submit agenda items and proposals to the General Assembly
Observer Status
Who Can Become an Observer
IAAA also offers the possibility to join the international Aerial Athletics community as an Observer.
Observer status is open to both individuals and organizations interested in following the development of Aerial Athletics and staying connected with the international ecosystem of the sport.
Observers may include:

  • athletes
  • coaches and judges
  • aerial artists and educators
  • clubs, studios, and training centers
  • organizations exploring future cooperation with IAAA
What Can Observers Do
Observers receive access to the international Aerial Athletics ecosystem and may:
  • stay informed about key developments and updates within IAAA
  • follow the strategic agenda and international initiatives of the Association
  • receive updates about competitions, education programs, and development projects
  • participate in selected meetings, events, or conferences by invitation
  • engage with the international network of professionals and organizations
Observer participation allows individuals and organizations to stay involved in the evolution of Aerial Athletics and grow together with the international community.
Development and Support Programs 
IAAA provides development support and resources aimed at strengthening the technical, educational, and organizational capacity of its members.
Education and Certification
Funding for the training and upskilling of coaches, judges, and officials to ensure professional excellence and consistency in international standards.
Digital Transformation
Implementation of an integrated digital system for athlete management and competition operations.
Competition Frameworks
Access to officially approved competition regulations, technical standards, and event management guidelines.
Joint Events
Organization of national and international competitions in partnership with national federations.
Youth Development Programs
Initiatives that promote participation of young athletes, talent identification, and long-term athlete development.
Gender Equality and Inclusion Projects
Supporting equal opportunities and diversity across all areas of Aerial Athletics, ensuring participation and representation regardless of gender, background, or ability.
Innovation and Research
Assisting federations in adopting modern technologies, AI-based performance analytics, and evidence-based training systems, as well as advancing research in movement science.
National Federation Development
Support for the creation and strengthening of national aerial athletics federations, including guidance on governance structures, organizational development, and the implementation of national programs aligned with IAAA standards.
At the current stage of development, IAAA membership is free of charge.
This policy reflects the Association’s commitment to supporting the early global development of Aerial Athletics and lowering barriers for international participation.

Becoming a member of IAAA means joining a global community dedicated to innovation, integrity, and excellence in Aerial sport.
IAAA welcomes applications from national federations and organizations that actively promote and govern Aerial Athletics in their countries and share the values of respect, fairness, and ethical conduct in sport.
Membership grants access to international development programs, education and certification opportunities, participation in official events, and integration into the worldwide network of Aerial Athletics professionals.
